What Does It Take? We get this question a lot...

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE INVOLVED IN ONE SHOW?

Shows like our 40k in 40m take a tremendous effort to make. The team assigned to make one often includes: 1x Producer, 1x Script Writer / Commentator, 2x Players, 1x Camera Operator, 1x Graphic Designer, and 1x Editor.

*Some shoots have more players and more editors. Sometimes another member of the team will do the cinematics and photography.

HOW MANY HOURS TO SHOOT A SINGLE GAME?

If a “normal” game can be played in 3 hours we double that time for production. In a single shoot we capture the game itself, as well as all the action shots, and player interviews.

0

The above does not include the time to capture the photography and cinematic footage, which is usually done on a separate day from the game itself.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO EDIT A GAME?

A “normal” game will take about 55 hours or about 2 weeks to edit. This includes the visual package, editing, and time for the producer(s) to review the project.

Editors inject a lot of personality into each show. We have 4 full-time editors, 1 contract editor, and 2 occasional editors. They each have their own style. Can you tell?

We are a Team of 11 People

A majority of us are gamers, but not all tabletop gamers. Outside of the five founders currently working at Play On Tabletop we have a team of 4 editors, and 2 support staff.

Our Studio is located near Vancouver, British Columbia

We currently do not have a system for guests unfortunately.

We are extremely slow to respond to communication at times.

Unfortunately, with limited resources for handling communications and social media (which we hope to resolve soon) it may take us some time to respond to any inquiries. Sorry.
